About Nurses in Touch Home Health and Hospice

Established 1990. Home health care for medicare and non-medicare patients; medicaid; private insurance; private pay. Pedi care on a case by case basis. Expert wound care; iv therapy. Excellent therapy department. Large service area, 16 counties, from boerne to beeville, hondo to almost halletsville. Hospice care established in 1994. Our large rural service area provides options for patients who live in and outside the san antonio metro area. We have a more traditional approach to hospice care. We strongly believe in the family's/friends' role in caring for the patient and provide steadfast support for them along the way and after the death. We believe in the patient's right to live life to the fullest until the very end. We do not believe in hastening the dying process in any way. We also do not believe that dying in and of itself is a "crisis." we are proactive in our approach to pain and symptom controland management and we encourage the patient's attending physician to participate in the hospice experience. We have knowledgable social work and chaplain personnel. We meet the patient and family where they are spiritually and we do not try to "save souls"---we walk with you until the end providing what level of physical, emotional, and spiritual care you want or need. We are not a huge hospice, nor do we think that is our goal. Quality of life, quality of care is what is important. Our motto is "touching lives, lifting spirits." this is at your pace, not ours. Member of national hospice and palliative care organization (not on the list below).
