Wyoming Home Care Services

The Aging Division of the Wyoming Department of Health provides many services for older adults, including resources related to Home Health Care. The Community Based In Home Services program (CBIHS) is used to provide services to those qualified individuals who are at risk of premature institutionalization. These services are designed to keep people in the least restrictive environment for as long as possible.

Some services are funded through Medicaid, and the Older Americans Act, while others are funded through grants the Division pursues. Services vary by county, but may include: case management, personal care, chore services, homemaker services, respite care, personal emergency response systems, adult day care and hospice. Eligibility for these services: A client must be 18 years of age or older, and, through an ongoing evaluation, to be at risk of premature institutionalization.

In addition, the not for profit Wyoming Visiting Nurses Association may be a useful resource and serves all Wyoming home health care consumers who qualify, regardless of age or ability to pay. Services are paid through Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies. The Wyoming's VNA Agency staff will evaluate eligibility via phone or home visit. Clients must have a physician's referral and be classified as homebound or needing skilled care.
