    Pros: Everyone was very nice, understanding to an extent, got my hours.... Cons: I worked A LOT of hours, in orientation, we were told that we'd get paid $.50 a mile traveling between each client's BUT they didn't tell us that after the miles add up to $8.50 they start to pay their CAREGivers per hour... so I lost a lot of money, I would beg for days off and worked 7 days a week for weeks at a time, I went a whole month without a day off-- 2-3 hour shifts, maybe 6-8... I asked for a little less hours and half my hours were taken away. They don't allow overtime, as any other caregiving service due to insurance purposes but in order to have a decent check, I worked 90 hours in one week sometimes.

    Quite possibly the worst home health care agency on the face of the planet. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay far away. Worst in office staff I've ever met. Terrible! Only care about their own fat assess.

    I've never worked with such warm hearted loving people before. HomeInstead really do care about their clients, employees and those around them who are in need.

    I have a 77 yr old mother with dementia/alzheimer when I interviewed Home Instead they assured me they were familiar with dementia individuals and their needs. They said they understood my concern of wanting to have one care giver and that they were well aware of individuals with dementia and the upset that is caused by multiple caregivers. They said they had the perfect person who was very qualified to work with my mom. I also wanted them to assure me when we moved into our new home in a few months they would be able to service that area ( which is in the same county) they assured me they would and expressed how they new dementia individuals do not like change. I agreed to use their service. The staff they sent out worked out well for almost 5 mn. My mom really loved her. We started to have problems with mom wanting to leave, she wanted to "go home", she was constantly talking- arguing about it with the staff, getting to be a handful. Staff got off on Sun.and would return on Wed. On Monday I got a call from the nurse she said, as you know new staff will be out there on Wed. I was taken be surprise. I said. What? Why? the nurse ask, they didn't call you? I said, no. She apologized then told me the staff I had, had requested to cut back on her hours and the new staff couldn't work the same hours and wanted us to consider changing our hours. I told the nurse something wasn't making sense, the staff was having major mouth surgury and she told me multiple times she needed the extra hrs to help pay for it. She said, I don't know I was just told to call and see if we could work out a different schdule. I told her I would call the office and hung up.( A month prior Home Instead had staff at another location who had to take leave and my staff was filling in for her. Well, she never came back.) I called and talked with Home Instead ask what is going on and why wasn't I called? (My staff had texted me saying as you know Home Instead has reassigned me but I will be there Sat.) Home Instead told me they were reassigning her because she was more qualified for the position at the other place she had been filling in for and it was in the best interest for that individual. I said, what about my moms best interest? Your going to pull my moms staff out that has been caring for her for almost 5 mn and put a stranger in? Thats in my moms best interest? None of this is making good sense I ask to speak to a supervisior, they said they would have someone call me back. Well, of course no one called me back. I called them back the next day and talked with Kim I had the same conversation with her as with Mindy the previous day. Kim said, I am coming out on Wed. with the new staff we will talk then. Wed. I told Kim all this wasn't making good sense especially in the interest of my mom. I told her it would make more sense and I could except it if the staff just didn't want to come back. Kim admitted it was the staff and that she wouldn't be back at all. I said, then that is what they should have expressed from the beginning instead of all these lies. Then to top it off Kim told me well when your house is finished and you move we won't be able to service you anyway, when they assured me at the beginning they would. This is NOT a company looking out for the BEST interest of the client. All they care about is a warm body to make a buck.
