I am unhappy with the lack of communication or consultation regarding the care of my father. He went in with an infection and had surgery procedure and I never heard one word from anyone regarding the status or what the were doing. I live out of state and am his only family. Now I found out by pure accident that they were moving him to one of the worst rehab facilities available. When I tried to ask if he could go anywhere else the discharge nurse refused to even consider it. Even when I provided examples of poor care based on friends who had been stuck there I was completely ignored. The only thing she kept saying is it is a "five star" facility, but all google results and reviews I find are one star and if he isn't happy there I can have him moved. Why not send him to a good place to begin with? I am disgusted with the lack of compassion or caring. It was obvious they just wanted him out of the facility as fast as possible. My not being in town is no excuse for not keeping me informed or truly listening to my concerns.

My specialist consistently has difficultly getting lab results from this hospital, and after becoming a patient at a new general practice, I noticed this doctor puts a notice at the bottom of all lab orders asking patients to avoid this hospital for the same reason. Clearly there's a problem!

A doctor I am friends with came to pick up her husband after surgery , he had a high fever they insisted on discharge, she is also an MD. This is totally unacceptable. I was so discharged after surgery with a fever and horrible pain from my infection from their OR. I witnessed a young man " cleaning " surgical instruments in a completely improper way. I mentioned to a another doctor in my neighborhood that my mom was considering a procedure there and he instructed me me to beg her not to goth to LUH as they have a horrible infection rate ( which they will not disclose and could give a !$&@ about pain . Steer clear. Many other choices near by.
