Billing Department is terrible. They are constantly billing visits as the wrong type to insurance, and while the patient has to do all the work to get billing corrected, they send account to collections. They are constantly coding things wrong and sending to insurance who will deny claims and all the while they send you into collections when you are trying to fix it. Nurse practitioner visits are not specialists but someone keeps coding them as such. If you call the billing dept, unless your ready to give them money they can not be bothered to help correct their mistakes. If the Dr's weren't so good I would avoid. They have a monopoly on the hospitals in the area so its not like you have a choice if you need to goto one either.

Beware Lee Memorial system is hiding behind a law called Emtala. They insist they don't have to tell you any costs if you go to the Emergency room. They can charge what they want and you have no rights. This is false, Emtala states they can not turn you away but if you are stable and meet certain criteria they can tell you the cost. They insist they can not tell you any costs and you are at their mercy. It could cost you 1,000.00 or 100,000.00 for a visit, you will not know until weeks later. Very sad for average folks that are not milking the system.

Complete assholes. I was ten minutes late for an appointment to do a well child checkup so I could get the forms I needed for school and they refused to see both of my children at the same time. This was after I took time off from work, pulled them from daycare and drove forty minutes to make the appointment and AFTER they cancelled on me twice before because the doctor couldn't make it suddenly at times that were more convenient for me. The receptionist and manager were rude and blamed me for their unwillingness to just look at both my kids at the same time. Will NEVER use this system again and am looking for Doctors who actually care and aren't completely rude to new patients. Horrible Horrible group.
