    Like any service company, the rating depends on the people that you interact with. For us, the final months and hours for our Mother was invaluably touched by our nurse, Courtney Dorsett, her final hours Hospice nurse, Rebecca and the Chaplain Edward. The unconditional love they showed our Mother and also our family before and after is something we cannot repay. We had no idea the comfort they would give to us. We have a continued relationship with these amazing individuals and look forward to having them at the Memorial Celebration.

    I would NOT recommend Vitas Innovative Hospice under any circumstances. They were in charge of Mom's hospice while at North Fulton Hospital. They did not check on her, Doctor only visited after we became completely frustrated. They did not know she was in pain, only gave her pain medication after we "screamed" at them for medical neglect. Vitas writes a good plan, gives you a well written brochure and then Does Nothing. They are a disgrace - shame on them! They were interested in how long she was in the hospital under "their care" instead of caring for her while she was there. Their interest is in obtaining a patient and then billing Medicare. Only after the family made numerous calls to both Vitas and North Fulton hospital did they finally give her pain medication. Their only interest seemed to be how many days to bill Medicare for the hospital stay. Stay clear of Vitas Hospice.

    After two weeks of having my mother in VITAS hospice's "care", the first in N. Fulton Hospital and the second at my home, I am bound to concur with the previous review in all respects. It's the beginning of the July 4th holiday weekend and not only has the nurse been a no-show since Monday, but a call to the main office GUARANTEED she'd be here today, and now I know we'll see no one until Tuesday, at best. (She promised to come Wed.) I asked the aide to wash my bedbound mother's hair and she said "How do I do that?" so I went out and bought the equipment and did it myself. The aide is useless, and the nurse is nowhere to be found, and Medicare is paying this company by the DAY? We were promised PT over a week ago and heard nothing, despite repeated requests. I'm spending this weekend researching alternative organizations.
