A Certified Nurse Assistant has completed a state mandated course and passed an intensive exam. All CNA's and HHA's have undergone Level 2 background screening by the F.B.I and Georgia Department of Law Enforcement.
CNA and HHA Services include:
Monitoring and observation
Personal care such as bathing, dressing and grooming (All activities of daily living)
Nutritional supervision, meal preparation
Errands, grocery shopping
Laundry, linen change
Companions provide socialization and transportation for the client to diversional activities. By law and as enforced by the State of Georgia, a companion cannot provide hands-on care for the client. As per the client's request and time allotted, companions may also assist with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and errands.
Skilled Nursing is comprised of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who provide physical and cognitive assessments of the client and report their observations to the client, client's family, and to the client's physician, if warranted.
A skilled Nurse may accompany the client to a physician appointment and ensure the physician had up-to-date medical information about the client. The skilled Nurse educates the client and client's family about the medications the client is taking.
Skilled Nurses can administer medications as ordered by the physician or set up the physician-ordered medications in a medication box so the client can self administer their own medications if the client prefers. Skilled Nurses do hands-on care of the client and provide socialization for the client by transporting the client to divisional activities. While the Skilled Nurse's primary focus is the client's physical well being, the nurse also does light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and errands for the client.
A Registered Nurse will:
Assist you in determining the hours of care you need and detail the specific duties to be accomplished by the caregiver assigned to you
Provide your physician with a written Plan of Care, for your physician's approval and signature, outlining the services being provided to you
Maintain oversight of the caregivers who provide your care
Stay in close contact with you, your family or other responsible party, and your physician in order to ensure that we continue to provide you with the appropriate level and hours of care
