    I was glad to hear that Home Care Assistance earned the 2016 Employer of Choice and 2016 Provider of Choice awards from Home Care Pulse. Our family is very grateful for the exemplary care given to my father-in-law, and would have tossed in another recommendation for them for the Provider of Choice award if we knew they were up for it. Over the course of his illness, Dad had a couple of long-term, live-in caregivers, the last of whom was with him 24/6 for close to three years, with a few people rotating through coverage for the seventh day of the week. Having quality coverage 24/7, for activities (including being driven to exercise classes, going on shopping trips), for personal needs, and for companionship really made his life not just bearable, but at many times more fun and relaxed than I would have expected. The caregivers, while varying in personality, were all attentive to physical and emotional needs, and quick to act whenever an issue arose. Communication between them and us (the family members) about any issue was open, frank, and complete. When scheduling needs arose with caregivers, Home Care Assistance was on top of any change in plans, making sure we were covered and had what we needed. Starting out with getting care for several days, we were concerned how it would work out. Over time, we saw that we could count on the caregivers who came, and on the organization. Thank God, as time went on, we could put any worries about who was caring for Dad out of our mind.

    Horrible company. All positive reviews by staff are fake, which I'm not surprised. Company gets bad reviews removed because it exposes them for the frauds they are. Employees are temps and treated poorly by management. Stay away. High turnover rate. No benefits. Rude office staff. Horrible treatment of clients due to poor staffing.

    Our family was in a real pinch. The live in care giver we had for my mom just up and left one day. We had hired her based on a recommendation from a friend, but never did a background check. We hurriedly contacted several local Home Care agencies. Home Care Assistance of Greater Chicago responded very fast. Their Case manager Jennifer came out to the house that afternoon for no charge, quickly understood the unique situation confronting my mother and our family and identified which one of their trained caregivers would best fit our needs. Our new Home Care Assistance care giver has been with us now for more than two months. She is part of the family. We couldn't be more thrilled. I highly recommend HCA- Chicago.

    Good Afternoon, A little over eleven years ago I lost my dad to cancer. I didn't know much about caring for anyone at that time but knew I had to learn quickly. I cared for my elderly dad until he passed away in 2004. It was then that I felt a need to continue to care for the elderly and continue to do this as a career. I did private home care for an elderly woman for almost 7 years after the death of my father. Not long after caring for this woman, I had the misfortune of learning that my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I took care of my mom with my other siblings until she passed away about 4 months after her diagnosis. I knew at that time that caring for the elderly was a passion growing inside of me. I knew than- that homecare for the elderly was to be my calling. I began applying to homecare providers to continue this field of work. Unfortunately, no company would hire me because I had been working as a private home care provider. A friend mentioned that she saw something on the internet about home care providers and I followed up on it. This is how I came to learn and apply to Home Care Assistance. HCA gave me the opportunity that I longed for. They took me in and what was to be a temporary position has turned into a little over 4 years (and counting). They gave me the proper training and extra tools to continue to do what I love. HCA cares about their clients and their staff- making it a great place to work, as well as a happy environment for their clients. A happy employee gives great attention to detail and works harder to make everyone happy. HCA stresses the importance of the clients and how we should treat them as if they were our own family. I appreciate the opportunity HCA gave me by opening their door and trusting/believing in me. I will forever be grateful- Thank you Home Care Assistance!!!     I was looking for home care for my grandma and called them up. they were really helpful and the caregiver is great. one thing though this isnt an assisted living facility for the elderly. dont confuse it with that.
