I wanna know why there so hard to staff with ... I figure when you see someone consistent on trying to work for your agency you should give them a shot

Beware of working at the " ELIZABETH COONEY " although this agency has been in existence for over 50 plus years this agency by no means displays the things that they claim that they stand for on their website such as "Trust, Integrity and Excellence." DON'T BELIEVE IT...let me tell you why: I have been working for Elizabeth Cooney Agency for 10 years, and I have represented them very well. The last case I worked on for this agency was on July 13, 2010 at which time I thought it was best that I should remove myself from the case due to the fact that I overheard the patient's middle-aged granddaughter (who lives with the patient) lying on me, creating havoc, and setting me up to lose my job; not to mention her disrespect and mistreatment towards me. At that time I asked the patient's granddaughter would she call her mom, the one who overseas the patient's care, who lives next door, so that I could talk to her about why I was leaving, I did not want to leave without her being there and being aware of what was going on. I wanted her to hear it first hand from me. Hurt, shocked, and let-down, I politely left the case and came home and notified the agency that night about had what transpired and why. The next day, I went to the office and met with Elizabeth Waglein ,she came into the room where I was seated with this mean, angry look on her face and proceeded to reprimand me with no reprieve. She told me that the way I handled the situation was called "ABANDONMENT"; After several unsuccessful attempts to explain my side to her, she said, "I don't want to hear it! What you did is obvious!" I couldn't get a word in edgewise. From that day on I had been calling the office often seeking work/cases. Because I wasn't given any more cases, I began to inquire if I had been fired. I was told by the coordinators, "No, why would you think that?" As time went on, I continually called to get work and I was given false hope and strung long for about a month before it dawned on me that something wasn't right. After making several unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with Elizabeth Waglein, owner, to find out what the heck was going on, she refused to accept nor return my calls. Several times I have told the coordinators that I have an eviction notice and need work, hoping that she would reconsider the matter. I heard no more about it. Now I have a second eviction notice. As a result I'm about to be evicted the beginning of next month. If I had been told early on that I am no longer employed I could have possibly warded off the now inevitable. Because of being strung along and unable to find work I will lose my car, my good rental history, good work history, miss up my good credit. My family and I have already had to get rid of the majority of our clothes and possessions including furniture, dishes; you name it! Because we will not have a place to stay, we will be forced out into the streets. Imagine having to call all my creditors and explain why I can no longer pay my bills! Today, August 24, around 3:30 pm, I was called by one of the coordinators and given a case. I was given all the patient's information and told to call the patient's contact person to confirm my case; however, about an half and hour later the coordinator called me back and told me, "I have bad news to tell you...I can't give you the case." They took the case from me and gave it someone else because of the incident on 7/13/2010. Caution to all Nurses,CNAs, etc.: Think twice and do your homework before applying with this company; the owner is mean and nasty and makes up rules as she goes along and does not tell you anything about her rules; she expects for you to read her mind, regardless of what happens it'll always be your fault, never hers!
