Hello to whom it may concern. I came into your small hospital in Scott's Hill area right of hwy 17 north just before you get into Wilmington. I was feeling really bad when I came their. Your front staff was great. But when I went to the back they were horrible. They called 3 people at one time to go to the back. The lady just pointed at the room and told me to walk their someone will be with you in a minute. I walked to the room and sit on the bed and no one came into the room to even hook me up to the high blood pressure machine or even say hi I'm your nurse and I will be with you in a minute. All I saw was people walking by not even looking in the room for 45 minutes. No one came in the room at all. But what I did notice was a little boy came in when I was in the lobby with a little cut on his foot not even bleeding he passed my room going to his room and they had stitched his foot and him and his dad was leaving walking by my door saying goodbye to the nurses and no one had even came into my room period. So I asked to check out because I felt unsafe at a hospital. I checked out at came to the main hospital in Wilmington and they were great their. I have had cancer, I have had blood clots, I have had knee and and surgery at different hospitals but I never felt as unsafe as I did at your hospital in Scott's Hill off 17 hwy north. The date was September 4,2017 I was in topsail for a family event. I'm born and raised in the topsail area. But live in Raleigh NC and my wife has been working at Wake Medical in Raleigh for 14 years and she was lost for words. Which I also have a Masters in Human Services and I couldn't believe it. I don't want to call it the color of my skin but its funny that everyone out there talking and standing around laughing was not my color and didn't pay me any attention at all. Thank you Russell Fuller

Like others said before me, terrible attentiveness. They say things they don't mean just to shut you up because they're cowards. Very little compassion, very little concern for the needs of the person they're dealing with. Garbage hospital but I guess there isn't much choice in this area if your situation is dire.

Chester Cartwright was a patient there for 5 days and spent the first 3 days in the ER since they had no beds available on the floor. everyone treated him fantastic UNTIL the discharge day. We waited for over 1/1/2 hours for his discharge summary which he never received due to update in software and then it woudn't print out. He never received this discharge summary which we really need. Now i am trying to find ot how t get one since he is home.Other than that his stay, all the staff,Doctors and all were great to him. Thank you for taking such good care of him

I seat here beside my mom on day 2 in the ER. A major stroke patient still waiting for a room she'll likely never get. My mom was in a larger ER room then downsized to a tiny room with a small wooden chair for you to REST in? No explanation given to why she was moved. Staff seemed more concerned to create a real life "Grey''s Anatomy" environment then a professional and caring image. The RN should be checking my mom every 2 hours, that has never happened with 2nd shift. I'm sick at the thought of my mom receiving low quality care in her current condition. UNC, Duke or Wake Med are far ahead of any medical services this place pretends to have. If you have a loved one take them to a place that truly wants to make a difference. NHRMC is lacking and frankly a huge disappointment. I'm so thankful I have he best hospitals to choose from, I just wish my mom had that near her.

Went for surgery, nurse told me I smelled. Waited 6 hours to get a room for overnight surgery that was booked over a mouth in advance, had sideaffects after surgery (nurse said I'll look into it never did) Nurses assistant was very rude to my family and didn't use gloves when checking my sugar and blood pressure!!! Overall just a bad experience!! People skills need to be taught! Or staff is over worked and understaffed
