My mother has used the shopping service and Meals on Wheels through SAGE. She has been pleased with both. I would like to see her take one of the many exercise classes that SAGE offers.

My mother was a recipient of the home healthcare aide service from the Sage Eldercare. We tried out two different aides being provided by this agency. We were totally unsatisfied with their aides' services. The aides were not performing the job properly. They were not attending the patient and were not completing the assigned jobs for my mother. The aides either sit on chair and sleep (taking nap), or talks on the phone during job assigned hours. The aid brings my mother from her bed room to bath room either without clothes on her or not properly dressed her. I strongly not recommend to have service from such aides, who are not performing their jobs in taking care of the elderly people, who are very in need of assistance and support

My parents started getting frail about 7 years ago and we started with meals on wheels. The volunteers were so sweet! But when dad broke his hip we didn't know where to turn. Dad always kind of took care of mom who was getting forgetful. We visited the day center at Sage and it was a perfect match. Mom really liked it. When dad finally got home we got an aid from there and she did everything for him. Unfortunately, they died within 8 months of eachother, but the people at sage were so nice and helpful. Now we are starting to worry about my father in law. I wish there was a sage in Virginia.

My first and what will probably be my only use of this agency's Home Health Aide service. Although the patient was partially at fault, there were a couple of concerns I had about the person sent to our home. I spoke to two different people at the agency and neither one even acted like they were interested in hearing anything about one of their employees. The concerns I had were: -Inappropriate dress - buttons open on a blouse showing her bra -Leaving the patient at the door instead of making sure he made it to where he was going -Not walking with the patient when walking to and from the car -she asked the patient why his nose and lips were purple -Thorough information typed out but she didn't have glasses to read the piece of paper, then called the next day asking about things that were writen down on the paper.
