About Kindred Hospice
Hospice care is for patients living with an end-stage disease who have been deemed to have a life expectancy of six months or less should the disease runs its normal course. There is no limit to how long a patient can receive hospice care as long as a physician determines that hospice care is still appropriate. Hospice care is a program that is funded though Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, self pay and in some cases charity care.
Hospice utilizes a holistic team approach to meet patient's needs. Services include case management by nurses and give the patient the opportunity to choose the services of social services, spiritual care coordinators, volunteers and certified nurse's assistants. Along with the trained staff, patients are eligible for assistance with equipment that might be needed as well as medication costs.
Kindred Hospice of Hobbs is proud to participate in two specialty programs, Memory Care and We Honor Vets. Our Memory Care program helps the staff manage the special needs of patients living with Alzheimer's Dementia. We Honor Vets is a collaborative program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Veterans Administration. This program places a specific emphasis on the unique needs of terminally ill veterans.
