I see so many poor reviews about Nevada businesses, Desert View Home Health Care included, and yet they continue to stay in business. Amazing. I was scheduled for a visit from a Desert View Home Health Nurse yesterday, after being discharged from the hospital on Friday. The nurse appeared within the time frame, which was 4 to 6pm. She pulled into our driveway, called our number, and asked that we confirm she was in the right place. We did, and my son opened the front door, looked outside, saw her sitting in her car, and left the door open. When he looked again, she'd left! We called her, and her explanation was that she wasn't sure she was in the right place! Did not instill me with great confidence in her medical knowledge, so maybe it was just as well. I called the agency, told them what happened, and was told that another nurse would call me tomorrow and set up another appointment. That was today, and no one called. Desert View Home Health Care is continuing a proud Nevada tradition of incompetency and unprofessionalism on the part of their businesses. Further complaints should be submitted to the Attorney General's office.

Useless, dangerous, uncaring, and unprofessional. How else would you describe a home health care company that DOESN'T SHOW UP? I was released from the hospital on Saturday and my case worker contracted with them to provide me with home care. Called them Sunday, they said they would be out Monday to help me after they verified with my insurance company as they were closed on the weekends. Got a call Monday morning, was told that everything was cleared, and that someone would be over shortly. A bit later, a lady showed up, but it was NOT to help me. It was just to fill out paperwork. I was told that a CNA would be out later to help me shower and start my physical therapy. When I was released, I was told it was very important for my recovery that I start my therapy immediately! The next day, Tuesday, 24 hours AFTER the woman left with my completed paperwork, I called the office to see when I was scheduled for my first CNA visit. I was told that my paperwork gathered the day before hadn't been turned in and that it would be a few more days before they would be out. Really? I had been in the hospital since the prior Wednesday and had not showered since then. I had dressings from surgery on Friday that needed changed. I was told to do neither without assistance from my home health care, it was Tuesday and would take a few more days? How uncaring, unprofessional, and irresponsible is that? I had family help me get cleaned up and change my wound dressings. It's now Saturday and they are still NO CALL NO SHOW. For all they care I could be dirty and dead of an infection by now

On Wednesday, December 23rd just one day post-op and while I was still in the hospital, the case worker assured me that he had set up my home health care. He said I would be visited on Saturday by Desert View Home Health the day after arriving home. With such reassurances, I was surprised that by mid-morning Monday I had yet to hear from Desert View Home Health. Since I had a major surgery and am living alone, I decided to call them. I was immediately scolded that my insurance was closed for the holiday weekend and until hearing back they would not provide service. Okay, I thought they could have called my insurance on Friday as it was not a holiday and was not the weekend. Patiently, I waited until Monday 2:48 pm to call my insurance myself. I was told that Desert Home Health had called two hours previously and were already informed that authorization was not required, that my coverage was confirmed. Upon contacting the hospital case worker the next day, I was told that Desert Home Health had told them that my insurance was still not confirmed! However, the insurance people gave a time/day stamp verification and name of caller to whom they confirmed. My medical team was notified of the situation and my post-operative care was then changed. Since I had not heard from the home health provider, I was convinced that they were not concerned about providing my post-surgical care. On Wednesday, December 30th my fifth day home from the hospital I got word from my community gate security that a "Desert Home Health" was attempting entry to come to my home! They had not EVER contacted me to request or inform me of such an appointment. The hospital will never refer another patient to Desert Home Health. Furthermore, if I ever needed home health care it was immediately upon arriving home... not 5 days later with an unannounced visit. Sorry, but this is not a professionally or personably run health care business. Thank God that I was able to make other arrangements and did not rely on this unreliable business for my care. UPDATE: Desert View Home Health called my emergency contact requesting my phone number NINE days after receiving my paperwork. With all the calls from the hospital and the call from me, they had ample opportunity to get my phone number if they couldn't find it!

Horrible! Terribly unprofessional and very disrespectfully! They do not do what they say they will do! Nothing but excuses and stupid reason why they are not doing what they said they would do! Peoples life's are in danger and they very uncaring. This was on the first visit, I can't imagine how bad they would be on ay visits after that. Do not even think for one minute about hiring them!!! The worst experience I have ever had with anyone who calls themselves a professional nurse. A local hospital referred them to us and after they found out what they had put me through said they would never use them again. Signed - M. Langdon

These people are so unorganized they don't even show up. The therapist we had was the only part of it that was above average. The management should be fired. Bad thing is we had two visits and she left on vacation. They haven't shown up looking for a new company.
