If I could give their emergency room a zero rating I would. I will NEVER go this emergency room again. I went in with severe chest pain and the place was packed with people. They slapped a bracelet on me, took me back to a room, gave me an EKG, blood test and x-ray. They told me to go back out to the waiting room and they would call me when they had a bed available. I arrived at 2 p.m. and never got a bed until 8 p.m. My spouse asked them why I wasn't being seen by a cardiologist asap and they said there wasn't one in the emergency room and I would have to settle for a general physician. Why didn't they call one in???? There were other people coming in with chest pains and they had the same situation. NO cardiologist available. They finally gave me a bed at 8 p.m. I saw the on-call physician and he ordered another set of blood tests and EKG. He said the X-ray and previous tests came back fine. I asked for a Motrin for the pain and they never brought me one until 45 min. later after I begged them for it. They came in at 11:00 p.m. and said that my second tests came back negative and I could go home. SERIOUSLY???? Talk about inept. I was there for 9 hrs. for nothing. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Terrible follow through with doctors and nurse practitioners, no information, my daughter had to beg for information and they don't even care. The nursing staff is excellent, very kind and attentive. I recommend finding another hospital where doctors and Nurse practioners actually communicate with families and answer questions.

We lost our 16 week old baby boy on April 12, 2017. We went to St. Joseph's to deliver him after he died. We had no idea what this hospital would be like but it surpassed any expectation we could have had. The way a hospital deals with birth and death says everything about its priorities and the way the minds of the staff work. We can't imagine having gone through a birth or death at ANY other hospital because these nurses, midwives, and doctors cared for us like no other hospital we've ever been to. This place has nurses that genuinely and deeply CARE. And who are knowledgable. They act quickly to help you when you are in pain, or just need something to eat/drink, medication, or have a question. They spent time with us while we cried, cared constantly for our bodies and hearts. This hospital deserves more stars then google allows. We will never forget the people who make up the staff at this hospital.

While 7 months pregnant I decided to go to the psychiatric ward with Bipolar. After a three week stay the social worker argued with the doctor and told him to AOT me. The doctor said no. I was manic at the time so I wasn't making good decisions. Well the social worker went behind his back and coerced me into signing aot papers while out of it. She is a disgusting unethical person. What, couldn't listen to a black doctor. Oh by the way I'm married to a Rhode Scholar and professor at UMich. My ex boyfriend is James park, the CEO of FitBit. And you are trash for trying to force a pregnant woman to take meds. These drugs are not FDA approved for pregnancy you sicko!
