Went in for surgery was received quickly and treated gently ( this is why they got the two stars, everything else went down hill when I woke up). I had two nurses, one was very kind however she gave me food and a drink I wasn't supposed to have due to my surgery. My throat was swollen and in pain. Second nurse didn't realize I had surgery on my abdomen area and tried to get me up after two hours of in and out sleep due to being under. She wanted me to go use the restroom as I couldn't go home until that happens. I didn't have to go but that didn't stop her from taking me. She asked me after what I had done, which just shows both nurses didn't pay attention to my needs. They both seemed eager to kick me out and kept asking me if I wanted to go home to my bed. As a person healing from surgery I shouldn't be pushed into doing anything I'm not ready to do and I should be treated respectfully with my needs in mind. The second nurse realized her mistake afterwards and was then kinder. However the damage was already done, I was irritated and my throat was swollen. How are you caring for someone and you don't even know what they came in for. The only blessing was the doctors that operated on me. This hospital needs to find better help, this is unacceptable.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. I wish I could give less than 1 star. My wife's doctor is affiliated with St. John's and was supposed to give birth here. In her 41st week of pregnancy (August 21nd, 2017), she started having contractions. We waiting a whole day home until she felt they were strong and consistent. At 1am, she was having them every three minutes and were really strong. We rushed there and were received by uncaring nurses (Renee being the worst). They checked her and she was already 5 and the contractions were becoming unbearable. There was no doctor on-site (what a hospital) and the nurse called the one on call to receive further instructions. They said they were going to monitor her again after she walks for 2 hours (my wife could not even get up with the pain) and that most likely we were going to be sent home because "it didn't look like she was in labor yet". We immediately left to a real hospital (Montefiore) where my wife was quickly received and gave birth a few hours later. This place should not have the privilege to be called a hospital and we can tell by the other reviews posted.

This is suppose to be one of the best hospitals in Yonkers. My mom went there because of her mental illness and they looked at her like she was a disease. Even though they don't treat patents for mental illness it doesn't give them the right to sit here and act like she does not exist. She was in pain walking to the bathroom and crying and nobody even came over to assist her smdh. A patient came in after my mom and the doctor saw her first smdh again. After we left I called multiple times to check on my mom to make sure she was ok and Maria knew who I was and had a nasty attitude like she did t want to assist me and was rushin me off the phone. It seems as though they are scared of my mom and they should be. Also my mom last meal was at 12pm my mom called me and told me nobody give her food since then and this was at 11pm at night . They feel like they are stuck up and get paid to be that way. St.Jospehs is a better hospital in regards to customer service . I am ashamed to even write this because back in the day the service was a lot better
