I don't go here unless I'm forced to. BMC sent me over for an ultrasound. Waited 3 hours to get one. They took a culture but are unable to provide the results (can't find them). I had to wait to get released because they couldn't find my paperwork. The dressing on my wound fell off as I got dressed. I absolutely loathe this unorganized, disposable excuse for a hospital.

On vacation and traveling through Redmond, came down with a horrible stomach virus and needed fluids. Within 10 minutes of check in, I was placed in a patient room and had been seen by a nurse and a doctor. Overall a great experience (especially coming from someone who works in a hospital) and fantastic staff. Shout out to my nurse Anita for great care!

We have been to ER three times in our five years here in Central Oregon. The longest waiting time was 1 and half hours due to many sick people that day. The shortest one was yesterday, no waiting time at all, it was 6 pm. The doctors and nurses were all very good. They are professional and caring. We feel grateful to have St Charle's Hospitals here.

Warning is a little graphic. Yesterday August 18th, I went in to receive an amnisure test to see if my water was leaking at the St Charles brithing center, Redmond Oregon. The tech inserted the probe into my urethra mistakenly instead of my cervix. Not only did she insert it she twisted it, left it in for one minute and pulled it out which caused immediate excruciating pain. Since the procedure I have had non stop bright red bleeding, clotting protruding from my urethra and extreme pain every time I urinate. This was extreme incompetence and I will not be returning to St Charles for any further care. I will also be filing a formal complaint with patient advocacy. The doctor on the scene also confirmed that this was her suspicion after she had seen my reaction and the irritation after the procedure but was unable to confirm it at the time because i was unable to specify where the extreme pain was protuding from. I spoke with her the next day and she was able to graciously order me numbing agent which I had to cover out of pocket and is still not powerful enough because the injury is internal. I do have to say the doctor on scene was very helpful and apologetic. This will also effect my birthing plan as I will not be able to have a catheter for an epidural or a c section due to my concern of any risk of further damage. On top of all of this when I called to report bright red blood to the emergency on call, the doctor on call didn't receive my message until 9am the following day. I know it was an honest mistake but that kind of thing can mess someone's bladder up for life I have not been able to control it since and before I had this procedure done I peed maybe every 4-5 hours even this pregnant. Before any of this I was seen at the women's center where there was no consistency, I never got a call back 3 days in a row to see if they had my x-rays, there were countless miscommunications among staff, this was not an isolated incident. I had even expressed my concerns about possible fluid leakage and instead of being told to get it checked out I was told it was normal and brushed off. That was why I came to the birthing center in the first place. As you can see this has not been a walk in the park. I do want to point out that Dr Ho Shaw has been completely on top of this and called to check in and help me every step of the way despite this unfortunate mistake of the nurse or tech on scene and I am very greatful however I think the nurse that administered this needs to be trained thoroughly to avoid this happening again.
