My grandpa came here to recover after being taken off of hospice care & my grandma ended up having to come around the same time. New Eastwood's therapists, nurses, and entire staff went above and beyond to help with their rehabilitation in mind, body, and spirit. The love and care that the entire staff gave my grandparents helped their journey tremendously. Today my grandparents are back home & much stronger than where they were before! We have New Eastwood to thank for being such a huge part of their journey! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Quality care and quality people. You won't find it anywhere else.

Everyone knows that when it comes to our loved ones, no one can take care of them better than we can. MOST OF THE TIME....because of this very reason patients and family members are quick to jump to the first opportunity to critique, but all it is, it's a personal view point. The truth is that the ENTIRE STAFF should be commended for their efforts in caring for our loved ones, staff work very hard at satisfying the needs of every individual that can at times be very demanding...depending on their own personal previous life's circumstances. I brought my dear aunt to this facility and i will admit at first I was very skeptical about their services that my aunt would or would not receive. I used to drop in at all times of the day unannounced because I thought I would catch someone doing something wrong, but as time went on, I realized that my aunt was happy, she had people to speak with, they cared for her very kindly. The Staff in this facility gave me great peace of mind. I also learned by personal experience that they care and focus greatly on the individuals. I want to say THANK YOU to you ALL Staff!! for a great job well done. And please continue to do your BEST!!

My views about this place were very wrong before. People change their minds. I love how they have been caring for my grandfather. I notice over time he has become very happy. I apologize for my first review. Thank you for caring for him. My family and I are grateful. Thank you for everything.

First of all - I never agreed to have my husband put into this facility. I would have put him in a closer facility instead of having to drive for 45 minutes to a place that didn't take proper care of him. (We have a friend who recommended a place here that he just loved for his Mom and I would have looked into that first). I just got home from visiting him in the hospital and I got a call that an ambulance was called for the transfer and he was being transferred to New Eastwood. I had spoken with their "Clinical Liaison" rep. at the hospital that morning, but explained that I wanted to check into this facility and was leaving to go home and couldn't talk to her at that time. He was more or less kidnapped and put is this place. I never signed any paperwork for him to be admitted for 2 days and then more paperwork at 3 days after he was already there. How can you say over and over and over again in answer to other reviews, that go back a year or more, that you are trying to upgrade and provide better care for your patients. My husband was there for over a month. The night nurses (except one or 2) never paid attention to him when he called for a bedpan to either be brought or taken away. There was an elderly man close to my husbands room that use to scream at the top of his lungs to "Please come get me off this thing" referring to the bad pan they put him on and never came back to take him off it". I heard this myself not hearsay from anyone. His bed cloths were not changed on a daily bases, His room was kept pretty clean but the floors were not washed everyday just swept. He was asked on numerous occasions what he did and didn't want to eat. His main didn't want was fish of any kind. So what did he get for dinner that day and lunch and dinner the next day??? FISH - he couldn't eat so he got nothing to eat for those 2 days except breakfast. They promised protein rich snacks (he needed to rebuild muscle) - he got ice cream or nothing at all. I could go on and on. There were some really great nurses that really cared. Then there were the one's who make it their duty to get out of doing anything. He would ask for something and was told "I'll be right back" never to be seen again. I refused to leave him there any longer and as soon as he could get to the bathroom - by himself, with the wheel chair, I brought him home. His therapy people were the best "I give them 5 stars 10 if you'd let me". With out their constant care of him, he might have had to stay longer. When I told them I was taking him home they asked why. I had been telling them throughout his stay how he was not being treated very well. I then told them that they weren't doing anything for him I couldn't do at home and much better too. I had already explained to them, on numerous occasions, that he was not a dementia patient that didn't know what was going on. He was there for rehab. and therapy and told me everything they did and didn't do. He lost over 20 pounds there and has since gained it back plus. I had confronted the administrator etc. on a few occasions without any good results. I, myself, WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND NEW EASTWOOD to anyone. I asked his Pulmonary Doctor if he had recommended this facility, which is what I was told by their Clinical Liaison, he replied "No I never have nor would I ever recommend New Eastwood". Enough said!!!!
