I was so impressed with the care provided by Hospice of the Western Reserve (in Cleveland) when they were caring for my mother-in-law, that I decided to volunteer with Hospice Austin. Hospice Austin provided us (the volunteers) with extensive training and tremendous support. When I have a question about how to deal with any concerns regarding my patient, they are very quick to be there with support. It is a privilege to work with Hospice Austin. Everyone is so professional and compassionate. I recommend Hospice Austin most highly. And I encourage people to avail themselves of its services earlier rather than later.

My husband was diagnosed with ananplastic thyroid cancer at the age of 57. There is no cure for this disease. Thanks to Hospice Austin my husband was able to die comfortably, at peace, and with dignity in our home with his family, friends and beloved dog. This would not have been possible without all the the great support we received from Hospice Austin. I think their many years of experience is what made the difference. Not only did they help with my husband's physical and spiritual pain; but they helped me and my family with our emotional pain. Hospice Austin staff was always available to night and day. I took advantage of two of their many grief programs that enhanced my ability to grieve appropriately. I never felt alone when Hospice Austin was supporting me. I recommend Hospice Austin to anyone that may not be around in the next six months. Not only does the patient receive wonderful care; the family and caregivers are also supported and assisted through a most difficult time.

Hospice Austin was a godsend to my mother Lynda, who died under Hospice care in 2007. While Hospice certainly provided her with much-needed physical comfort and medical attention, they also helped me in ways that I never anticipated. The Hospice patient-centered approach does not ignore the needs of the caregivers, and in fact it provides support to those who care the most, the family. I cannot say enough good things about Hospice Austin.
